1 Sam 3.1-10
This passage is symbolic of the hopes all parents have for their children.
Matt 7.24-27
Raising children with God gives them and us a position of strength.
How do we deal with parenting challenges? Transition to becoming friends with our children is a key shift. Weekends become even more significant at that point, perhaps for age 7 onwards.
How do we manage the friendships our children build with other children? Parents will need to make significant sacrifices to create space for these relationship.
How can we best help our children with their decisions? Important not to overreact when our children have strong opinions about their choices. Remember God is involved. Our children are on a journey. Remember we all learn through our mistakes, including our children.
How do we have conversations with our children around the issue of body parts? Having pets can be a good way of understanding reproduction and associated matters.
How can we help our children to have a resilient faith? They must know the Bible for themselves. Reading the Bible morning and evening builds good habits when they are young.
